Developed an internal purchase approval system to manage and govern organizational card spend. The tool generates real-time purchase request summaries with detailed transaction info, receipt uploads, and expense classification. Approvers receive email notifications with approve/deny actions embedded. Built with a scalable frontend and backend logic to later expand into a full SaaS platform for nonprofit and small business finance teams.

Solving Real Business Workflow Challenges
This project started as a solution to eliminate manual bottlenecks in the purchase approval process. By studying how teams handled card spend requests, I identified key pain points like tracking receipts, categorizing expenses, and maintaining approval visibility. The result was a tool that streamlined communication between requesters and approvers, while ensuring accurate, audit-ready data collection.
Building for Scalability and Future SaaS Growth
From day one, I designed the system architecture with scalability in mind. The frontend offers an intuitive request submission and approval interface, while the backend handles data storage, status tracking, and automated email triggers. I built the logic to be modular, making it easy to expand this tool into a full SaaS platform for small businesses and nonprofits looking for affordable spend governance solutions.
This project demonstrates my ability to identify real operational pain points, design user-friendly solutions, and build scalable systems that solve business-critical problems.
